Key Takeaways from our interactive roundtables at the Catalyst Summit

Welcome to this special edition of our Partner Marketing Insights series. At the recent Partnership Leaders Catalyst Summit we hosted an interactive Partner Marketing workshop and roundtables with Partner Marketers to discuss one of the biggest challenges: Partner Enablement.

If there is one thing we all agreed on, it’s that enabling partners isn’t just about throwing resources at them, it’s about building relationships, making it easy for them to sell and ensuring alignment between vendors and partners. Here are the top insights from our discussions:

Becoming the Preferred Vendor

Every vendor wants to be a partner’s go-to solution, but how do you actually achieve that?

Identify champions within the partner – Just like a sales pitch, you need internal advocates who push your solution forward. Find those who already believe in your offering and equip them to influence internally.

Leverage steering groups – Bringing partners together in structured forums helps drive adoption, encourages best practice sharing, and provides direct feedback loops to refine enablement strategies.

Show you understand their challenges – Generic enablement materials won’t cut it. Partners need to see that you truly understand their products & solutions and how a joint GTM will enhance the offering. Tailored messaging and relevant industry insights go a long way.

Communication That Works

Clear and consistent communication is key but the method matters just as much as the message.

LinkedIn & Slack groups can be powerful tools – Many vendors have set up communities or groups where partners can engage, ask questions and share experiences. But be mindful of competitive dynamics! Some partners might not be comfortable engaging in open forums with competitors.

Automated updates keep partners in the loop – Regular touchpoints such as newsletters and partner hubs can ensure partners have access to the latest information without overwhelming them. Link them to your company marketing updates for efficiency.

Driving Adoption

Partners won’t just use your MDF programs or marketing assets because they exist – you need to show them the value.

Showcase MDF success stories – Partners want proof points. Sharing real-world examples of how MDF has driven ROI helps overcome scepticism and encourages adoption. Case studies including the outcomes and ROI are a powerful tool.

Follow-up plans are critical – Sales teams play a crucial role in ensuring partners actually execute campaigns and follow through on agreed activities. Having a structured follow-up process increases success rates.

Biggest Challenges

Here are some of the top challenges in Partner enablement & how to overcome them:

Resource investment – Some partners want to run their own landing pages, campaigns and lead generation, but they don’t always have the time or skills to execute effectively. Working with agencies to support partners lacking marketing resources or knowledge can help uptake and execution.

Choosing the right partners – Not all partners are created equal. Prioritising those who have the capability and commitment to execute is key to success. Partner profiling can help ensure resources go to those most likely to deliver results.

How do you ensure they stay on-message and aligned with your brand?

Co-branded templates make life easier – Partners want to market your solutions but they also want flexibility. Providing easy-to-use, customisable assets ensures they stay on brand while allowing for personalisation.

Final Thoughts

Well-enabled partners amplify reach, drive more pipeline and create long-term impact. With better training, co-branded marketing resources and sales support, partners can become truly self-sufficient and generate higher pipeline and revenues.
